BUSECO successfully holds District Assembly in Cabanglasan

 

BUSECO existed because of people, by the people and hence, for the people. With this, the cooperative believes that participation from its Member Consumer Owners (MCOs) is of huge importance for the advancement of the cooperative. Additionally, one of BUSECO flagship programs is Member Consumer Empowerment Program (MCEP) of which aims to involve MCOs from the grass roots level to the operation of the cooperative for them to be empowered and appreciate the cause of the cooperative which is very vital in realizing BUSECO’s dream of becoming a World Class Organization.

 

On June 10, 2014, BUSECO conducted 7th Annual District Assembly in the District of Cabanglasan. The program was formally opened by Branch Operation Management Department (BOMD) Manager for Malaybalay, Ms. Melchie R. Nacalaban. Welcome Address by Hon. Mariano Calderon, Barangay Captain of Poblacion, Cabanglasan. Acknowledgement of Delegates was then delivered by Mr. Jijo Butalid, MSEAC Chairman of Cabanglasan.

 

To set the views of the participants to the assembly, Mr. Florgene Sumintan, Human Resources Division Chief then gave the Overview and Background of the 7th Annual District Assembly.

 

Honorable Renante V. Inocando, Municipal Mayor of Cabanglasan; Director Charlie C. Castillanes, Director of the District; Director Eligio C. David, Jr. , Board President and Honorable Lolita N. Obsioma, Vice Mayor of Cabanglasan then gave their messages to MCOs.

 

To apprise the MCOs of the status of the cooperative, Branch Operation Management Department (BOMD) Manager for Manolo Fortich, Juancho T. Chiong, MPA presented the BUSECO 2013 Accomplishments as well as 2014 Priority Concern of the cooperative.

 

Moreover, Area Manager Engr. Rey Ann Baul, REE updated the attendees on the Status of Mindanao Power Crisis which greatly affected BUSECO as well as the Interim Mindanao Electricity Market. Provincial Coordinator of 1 CARE, Mr. Urbano Talibong also gave updates of the 1-CARE activities.

 

Resolutions relative to IMEM dispute and the load priority dispatch were then presented and elaborated for better appreciation of the MCOs by MSEAC Chair Jijo Butalid. Campaign to fast tract HB 677 was also given emphasis during the assembly.

 

An open forum was then conducted to ensure that all concerns of the MCOs represented by Multi Sectoral Electrification Advisory Council (MSEAC) and Barangay Member Consumer Electrification Council (BMCEC) were properly addressed. The program was then formally closed by Mr. Sufronio Bahian

BMCEC Chairman of Poblacion. The assembly was attended by 338 MCOs.

 

This simply manifests the sincere intention of the cooperative to be transparent to its MCOs which is very vital with the cooperative’s dream of becoming a World Class Organization.
