BUSECO successfully holds CAPEX Clarificatory Conference with ERC
With the irrepressible pursuit to be recognized as a World Class Organization of which to provide much better services to its Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs), BUSECO recognized the need to further enhanced its distribution system through Capital Expenditure Projects. The Projects were intended for the benefits of BUSECO’s MCOs which in the long run ensures safety, reliable capacity, power quality, rural electrification, reliability improvements and system loss reduction. Further, this is in accordance with Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) issued ERC Resolution No. 20, Series of 2011 adopting the Revised Timelines for the Filing of Multi-Year Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) applications of Electric Cooperatives Prescribed in Section 6.2 of the Amended Rules for the Approval of Regulated Entities Capital Expenditure Projects.
On August 29, 2013, BUSECO in compliance with ERC rules filed its application for approval of its proposed three (3) year capital expenditure projects for the year 2014 to 2016 and authority to secure loan from NEA with ERC case no. 2013 –178 RC. On March 14, 2014, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) conducted initial hearing, expository presentation, pre-trial conference and evidentiary hearing at BUSECO’s Main Office.
To aid the evaluation of the Commission, the application was set for clarificatory conference on April 21, 2014. The conference was a success and BUSECO was able to shed light on the reservations of the Commission.
With the clarificatory conference, BUSECO is confident that the application will be approved the soonest to the advantage of the MCOs. The implementation of the Capital Expenditure also entails delivery of more efficient services which is very vital with the cooperative’s aspiration of becoming a World Class Organization.
