The Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BUSECO) is employing all measures to deliver continuous power supply to its Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) at a reasonable if not cheap rate. With this, BUSECO is sincere on its endeavor to implement the Interruptible Load Program (ILP) through the help of its capable Industrial Consumers to augment its power supply with this current power situation.
On February 28, 2014, BUSECO conducted an ILP Participant Meeting at Loiza’s Pavillion, Malaybalay City. The program was started by a presentation of BUSECO 2013 Accomplishment Report and 2014 Priority Targets by no less than General Manager Deiter Hoff P. Arellano, CPA, MBA. He also explained the recent experienced system black out as declared by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and enjoined the participants to be vigilant and employed protective measures to protect its equipment from damages with the rampant power curtailment.
The Corporate Planning and Utility Economics Division Manager, Cristopher Dulfo, CPA, MBM, then presented Interim Mindanao Electricity Market (IMEM) updates to apprise the participants of the market implementation. He also presented the billing of IMEM to BUSECO as well as the dispute resolution filed by the cooperative before the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
Ms. Theresa M. Justaga, the Regulatory Compliance Officer subsequently presented the ILP updates. As discussed, out of 63 surveyed Industrial Consumers who submitted Letter of Intent to participate in ILP, only 26 qualified. Further, it was clarified that the basis for qualification is the participant’s metering capability considering that load profile is a requirement in the billing settlement. It was also emphasized that ILP is not yet implemented due to supply sufficiency for the last semester. Moreover, BUSECO pledged to notify the participants once the program is ready for implementation.
Open Forum was then conducted and facilitated by Ms. Melchie Nacalaban, the Branch Operation Management Department Manager, to ensure common understanding with the presentation. The ILP Meeting was attended 18 out of 26 Qualified ILP Participants.
BUSECO is looking forward for the smooth implementation of ILP in the near future and affirmative that such program will be a great help for the MCOs. This is just a manifest that BUSECO is doing all means for the betterment of the cooperative and its MCOs.
Onwards and Soar High BUSECO!
