BUSECO successfully conducts District Assembly in Manolo Fortich

 

The Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BUSECO) existed because of and for the people. Hence, the cooperative believes that participation from its Member Consumer Owners (MCOs) is of huge significance. Moreover, one of BUSECO flagship programs is Member Consumer Empowerment Program (MCEP) of which aims to involve MCOs from the grass roots level to the operation of the cooperative for them to be empowered and appreciate the cause of the cooperative which is very vital in realizing BUSECO’s dream of becoming a World Class Organization.

 

On May 17, 2014, BUSECO conducted 7th Annual District Assembly in the District of Manolo Fortich. The program was formally opened by Mr. Rolando Galarrita, MSEAC Chairman of Manolo Fortich followed by the Welcome Address of Ms. Bernadeth Bontilao, MSEAC Member, Lunocan, Manolo Fortich and Acknowledgement of Delegates by Mr. Reynaldo Narisma, MSEAC Member in Damilag, Manolo Fortich. Mr. Juancho T. Chiong, Branch Manager then gave the Overview and Background of the District Assembly. Messages were then delivered by Hon. Rogelio N. Quiňo, the municipal mayor of Manolo Fortich; Hon. Alex Payangga, Board of Director in the district of Manolo Fortich; and Hon. Miguel Demata, Vice Mayor of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

 

To apprise the MCOs of the status of the cooperative, no less than General Manager Deiter Hoff P. Arellano, CPA, MBA presented the BUSECO 2013 Accomplishments and Plans for 2014. Moreover, Engineering and Technical Services Department Manager Engr. Roseller Salise, REE updated the attendees on the development of Interim Mindanao Electricity Market (IMEM) as well as the Mindanao Power Crisis which greatly affected BUSECO. Mr. Agripino D. Mangaron, CW-MODS Head also give status of IMEM Dispute Resolution and Energy Regulation 1-94 as Amended. Provincial Coordinator of 1 CARE, Mr. Urbano Talibong also give updates of the 1-CARE activities.

 

Resolutions relative to IMEM dispute and the load priority dispatch were then presented and elaborated for better appreciation of the MCOs. Campaign to fast tract HB 677 was also given emphasis during the assembly.

 

An open forum was then conducted to ensure that all concerns of the MCOs represented by Multi Sectoral Electrification Advisory Council (MSEAC) and Barangay Member Consumer Electrification Council (BMCEC) were properly addressed. The program was then formally closed by Mr. Henrik Angeles, MSEAC Member in Maluko, Manolo Fortich. The assembly was attended by 304 MCOs.

 

This simply manifests the sincere intention of the cooperative to be transparent to its MCOs which is very significant with the cooperative’s aspiration of becoming a World Class Organization.
