Press Release March 19, 2014
BUSECO actively participates in Tree Growing Program
The Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BUSECO) dreams to be recognized as a World Class Organization in the near future. This is to serve its Member Consumer Owners (MCOs) efficiently and effectively for them to be satisfied if not delighted. Further, BUSECO promotes socio-economic development to its coverage area for the betterment of its MCOs. However, the cooperative is cognizant that along with the socio-economic development is the responsibility to conserve the environment. As a utility, it is its duty and obligation to lead and support advocacies for environmental conservation.
In view of the foregoing, BUSECO has advocated for environmental conservation and preservation by implementing its own tree growing program and openly support on the greening program of Local Government Units (LGU). In fact, BUSECO allocated budget solely for the said purpose.
Moreover, in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manolo Fortich, the cooperative has a designated area for tree growing program with a total of 2 hectares more or less in Mangima Tree Park. As of the time being, 1,540 trees were already planted in the site. Further, BUSECO has other designated areas within its franchise area such as the Can-ayan Water Reservoir, Pulog Hills and NBCC Ground and planted 2,370 trees. From year 2011 until 2013, BUSECO already planted a total of 3,910 trees. BUSECO endeavored to increase the total by scheduling tree planting regularly.
BUSECO is optimistic that through engaging in this kind of advocacy or program, the cooperative will be able to help Mother Earth in its own little way. By conserving the environment, we will be able to sustain not just environmentally but economically as well. BUSECO believes that it would be futile to totally develop a community if the environment was devastated. A balance between socio-economic development and environmental conservation must be promoted.
BUSECO is therefore grateful to the National Government as well as the Local Government Units for promoting the tree growing or greening program. BUSECO is truly glad to be part of the undertaking.
BUSECO wishes to express its profound gratitude to the MENRO of Manolo Fortich for recognizing the cooperative as one of the active agencies in its advocacy and support for the tree growing program of the LGU.
Onwards and Soar High BUSECO!
